The bond between TV and romance goes bones and wires deep! Whether you are thinking about classics like When Harry Met Sally or the teenage fantasies like Twilight Saga or even pop TV series like The Big Bang Theory or F.R.I.E.N.D.S.! Some might even love Edward Scissorhands and Shrek with their happily ever after! In any case, it is accepted by all that movies with a romantic base are really enjoyable at some or the other point in life. So why not let the moods of the screen colour your Valentine’s 2018 red this year? There are a few top picks that would make for amazing flicks with your date.

Pride and Prejudice (2005) – This Jane Austen adaptation is a must watch for all the fans of the Victorian Era literature! Elizabeth Bennet was never as widely loved as in this 2005 version and Mr. Darcy had never killed with his looks as Matthew Macfayden did! The ending dawn scene always hits the right notes with the audience whether you are watching it for the first time or falling in love with the characters for the umpteenth time. Other movies like Sense and Sensibility and something older like When Harry Met Sally is also perfect for the old love.

Titanic (1997) – A fictionalized account of the luxurious, ill-fated RMS Titanic- this movie is the king of romance and true love that transcends societal boundaries and even fate, destiny and death. Rose finding her individuality by breaking away from the confines of the society and living a carefree life with Jack shows the power of love in all its glory. The most appreciated movie of the last two decades!

Pretty Woman (1990) – This Julia Roberts and Richard Gere starrer is quite the one from another age, but this movie deals with the real meaning of love and what exactly it means to be in a relationship. Most people watch this as the movie that revealed Julia Roberts, but Vivian and Edward are the finest example of chemistry while maintaining their own sparkle and growing together. Runaway Bride and America’s Sweethearts are also worth watching if you like your simple, serious messages wrapped in fluff!

Beauty and the Beast (2017) – If the above are too sappy for you, and if you’d like to enjoy the innocence of love, check out the 2017 adaptation of the classic fairytale Beauty and the Beast. With bright, vibrant colours and amazing animation, this movie is a reminder why we should look beyond superficial beauty and recognize the beauty within. In today’s world of rational rush, we often overlook the important, little bits worth appreciating in our partner that is not visible to the rest of the world.

There are many others which have made it to the must watch lists published everywhere. These, however, are few among the rest which you can watch on a light Valentine’s Eve with some chocolates and popcorn and lots of love!
